Wauchope Motors
The challenge. A busy mechanical workshop and service centre relies on the front desk and the workshop bays staying connected. Diagnostic tools, parts ordering and bookings all need to run without lag, but ageing office PCs, patchy WiFi in the workshop and an old copper-era phone system were causing hold-ups and missed calls.
- Replaced slow office PCs with fast new computers suited to their diagnostic software, inventory and billing.
- Installed commercial WiFi access points across the office and service bays, so mechanics can use wireless scanners, download ECU updates and look up service bulletins anywhere in the workshop.
- A cloud phone system with smart call routing, overflow queues and cordless handsets, so service advisors don't miss a booking.
- Took over their website hosting at short notice when it needed rescuing, and quickly rebuilt the site so customers could still find them and get in touch.
- Ad-hoc IT support, remote or on site, whenever something goes wrong, without an ongoing contract they don't need.
Service advisors process jobs quickly, wireless diagnostic gear works reliably in every bay, and incoming calls get answered.
